Hello, we’re Emma and Becky.

We’re two friends and ex-colleagues who set up shop in early 2021. After working in London’s top PR agencies for almost 15 years, 2020 forced us to pause and re-evaluate.

Slowly, we realised our pre-pandemic careers didn’t feel right anymore. We wanted to live and work differently in this new world.

We wanted to work with brands we loved. Create campaigns we believed in. Work wherever we wanted. Whenever we wanted. 

So we decided to package up our skills, knowledge and expertise and set up Indie Comms. We now shine a spotlight on issues we passionately believe in, and places and experiences we are excited to share!

    Emma has 15 years of experience working on a number of creative consumer and issues-based PR campaigns and has a passion for helping brands to find clever ways to bring stories to life and get people talking about them.

    Emma has worked across clients including Secret Escapes, which was awarded Best Strategic PR Campaign, Warner Leisure Hotels, Hamleys, launching IHG’s Kimpton Hotels into the UK and the Carbon Monoxide awareness campaign.

  • Rebecca Shay

    CO-FOUNDER & CONSULTANT

    Becky has over 15 years of experience in consumer PR, specialising in strategy, creative campaign development and publicity. She’s worked across clients including Affordable Art Fair, Visit London, London Coffee Festival, The Aldenham Estate, Ashridge House, National Trust and Hilton Hotels. She loves campaigning on issues she’s passionate about and one of her favourite work moments was encouraging children to play outside more with the National Trust’s award-winning ‘50 Things to do Before You’re 11 ¾’.

    Becky is also a Mentor and Ambassador for Creative Mentor Network.
